Leading the Town into a New Business Future
  • Along with the medical buildings already in progress on Wildcat Dr., a new medical complex is in the works.

  • Plata Partners are proceeding with plans to build Leap Year Plaza in front of the Best Western Hotel.

  • Con Ram Recycling on 100 Rainbow Lake Rd .is preparing to provide recycling services to the town

  • Trenching has started on Honey Bee Park on Wildcat Dr. in preparation for the Food Truck Park

  • Development of the 883 acres East of I-10 will be bringing shopping, housing, entertainment and an additional access road to the Anthony Heights area.

  • Creation of an Ethics Committee made up of citizen volunteers to investigate matters pertaining to civil rights grievances, financial irresponsibility claims, etc. as needed for the Town of Anthony

  • Establishing Impact Fees developed with input from engineers (Prior to this, any new business would only pay a permit fee of $100), leaving the burden of the increase in water, sewer, and traffic. The Impact Fees charged to the new businesses will now pay a fair portion for this new infrastructure.


Highlights of Mayor Turner's Accomplishments in his First Term (May 2023-2025)

  • Established the Animal Welfare Services Office with the Anthony PD

  • Started the Farmer’s and Artisan’s Twilight Markets, Movie Nights, Bingo, and more

  • Appointed the Home Rule Charter Committee which drafted the charter that was passed by voters – giving residents the power to recall the mayor and/or council members and to bring their own initiatives forward

  • Gave the town the most successful Leap Year Festival in 2024 which drew national and worldwide media coverage

  • Improved transportation for our residents through Route 10 of the EP Transportation Authority Organized internship programs for high school and college students

  • Created new, self sustaining streams of revenue to increase the town's financial reserves and operating budget

  • Restructured the Anthony Housing Authority to ethically serve our most vulnerable citizens Diversified ways to receive official town notifications through the GoGov app, a quarterly online newsletter, Coffee with the Mayor events, and notifications mailed with our water bill.
